Our Story: Jayme & Cameron Lyon

Lyon

Hi there! My name is Jayme Lyon and I am married to my prince charming, Cameron.

I met Cameron my first semester at BYU-Idaho at the school Halloween dance. We quickly fell madly in love and got engaged the following February and married in the Salt Lake Temple on May 20, 2010. After I graduated, we decided to start growing our family.

I suspected we might have problems since I never had a regular cycle and a family history of PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), but I never imagined it would take over three years. Shortly after realizing our difficulties, we sought medical attention, I was diagnosed with PCOS and we started our fertility treatments.

I thought our problems would be resolved after a few simple tests and a few short months, but that was not the case. Month after month treatments became more invasive and intensive and so did the prices. I continued to enjoy being an Aunt and wife, but still longed to be a Mother, to hold my child, to wrap them up in hand-made, love filled items, to sing them to sleep and care for them every day, but the cost of treatments was becoming a burden.

I decided I wasn’t going to let my situation bring me down, so I started making those hand-made love filled items to share with the babies around me. It has become therapeutic for me to spend time creating these pieces for precious little ones, and hopefully it will financially help us to be able to afford our own. One day we hope to hold our sweet, precious little one in our arms. In the meantime, we plan to keep creating beautiful baby creations, and talking out about infertility, as we share our story.

So if you can buy a blanket for a baby in your life to help us get ours in our arms, we would greatly appreciate it!
